At Investec, we do things differently. We're a leading international bank and wealth manager built on a culture of curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit and human connection. Ideas are heard, ambition is celebrated, and impact is encouraged. As part of a team that challenges convention and strives for outperformance, you'll help shape bold solutions for clients who expect something more than the ordinary.

About the team:

The Bank Funding Group is responsible for raising, managing and optimising the funding required to support Investec Bank plc's balance sheet and lending activities. It brings together deposit gathering, funding strategy, treasury, liquidity management and related change programmes within one function. Within the Bank Funding Group, the Client Group Funding dealing team provides proactive cash management services to a portfolio of approximately 800 corporate and institutional clients. The team takes a personal, relationship-led approach, helping clients manage liquidity, identifying relevant solutions and cross-sell opportunities, and balancing competitive pricing with the bank's funding requirements. The team also supports the Funding Partnerships desk through trade bookings and identifies opportunities to originate and onboard new-to-bank clients.

What will I be doing?

  • Manage and develop business across a key, relationship-driven corporate deposit channel, contributing to the bank's corporate liability strategy.
  • Deliver agreed budgets and KPIs, including cost of funds, book granularity, client referrals and increased share of clients' cash balances.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to calls and emails from new and existing clients, providing a high-quality, client-centric service.
  • Manage clients proactively across maturities, notices and new opportunities, recommending suitable money market solutions.
  • Explain money market products clearly and position Investec's strengths and differentiators effectively.
  • Identify relevant broader banking solutions and referral opportunities across your client portfolio.
  • Originate and support the onboarding of new-to-bank business, including opportunities for Funding Partnerships.
  • Manage the desk inbox and allocate or complete ad hoc tasks so client queries are resolved promptly.
  • Use the dealing system for trade monitoring, reporting and responses to internal and client requests.
  • Maintain complete and accurate client records in the CRM and build strong working relationships across the bank.
  • Support Funding Partnerships through trade bookings and other operational activity where required.

What do I need to bring?

  • Experience in a client-facing dealing, treasury, deposits, cash management or closely related financial services environment.
  • A sound understanding of money market products and how they can support clients' liquidity needs.
  • A proactive, commercial approach, with the confidence to develop existing relationships and originate new business.
  • Strong client service skills and the ability to communicate clearly across telephone and email channels.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to complete tasks accurately and manage competing priorities.
  • An understanding of wider liability-raising channels and how they influence deal pricing and funding requirements.
  • A strong commitment to integrity, Consumer Duty principles, treating customers fairly and applying relevant regulatory requirements.
  • FCA registration and the CISI Regulations and Derivatives examinations, or the willingness and ability to complete the required qualifications. This is a Certified Person role and requires an FCA qualification.

I am good at:

  • Building trusted, long-term relationships with corporate and institutional clients.
  • Listening carefully, understanding liquidity requirements and translating them into suitable solutions.
  • Acting with pace while maintaining accuracy, control and excellent service standards.
  • Spotting opportunities, making relevant referrals and increasing client engagement.
  • Working collaboratively across dealing, funding, sales, operations, onboarding and control functions.
  • Learning quickly and contributing positively within an agile, commercially important funding team.
