Paediatric Clinical Lead We’re Hiring: Paediatric Clinical Lead Verity Healthcare Limited Permanent | Full-Time | Field-Based – London Salary: £49,000–£53,000 + Car Allowance On-call telephone support on a rota basis About the Role Verity Healthcare Limited is seeking an experienced Paediatric Clinical Lead to provide clinical leadership and oversight across our paediatric and complex care services. You will manage a caseload of children and young people with complex healthcare needs, ensuring care is safe, person-centred, clinically effective and delivered to high standards in their homes and communities. Working closely with families, commissioners, healthcare professionals and care teams, you will oversee assessment, care planning, risk management, clinical competency and ongoing review. Key Responsibilities · Complete comprehensive initial and ongoing clinical assessments. · Develop and review personalised care plans, clinical protocols and risk assessments. · Provide clinical oversight for children and young people with complex needs. · Ensure treatment plans, diagnoses, discharge instructions and clinical guidance are accurately communicated and documented. · Monitor changes in clinical condition and ensure appropriate escalation. · Lead or support investigations into clinical incidents, medication errors and safeguarding concerns. · Undertake clinical audits and implement improvement actions. · Deliver client-specific clinical training and competency assessments. · Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and support to nurses and care staff. · Ensure staff are competent before undertaking delegated clinical procedures independently. · Work collaboratively with parents, NHS professionals, commissioners and multidisciplinary teams. · Support recruitment and clinical assessment of nurses and complex care staff where required. Clinical Experience Required The successful candidate should have experience supporting children with complex healthcare needs, including: · Tracheostomy care · Invasive and non-invasive ventilation · Airway management and suctioning · Oxygen therapy · Enteral feeding, including PEG, PEJ or NG · Seizure and epilepsy management · Rescue medication · Medication administration · Diabetes management · Neurological and long-term conditions · Complex mobility needs · Emergency clinical escalation Essential Requirements · Registered Paediatric/Children’s Nurse with an active NMC PIN. · Strong post-registration paediatric nursing experience. · Experience in complex, critical or community care. · Proven competency in tracheostomy and ventilation. · Experience undertaking clinical assessments and developing care plans. · Experience assessing and managing clinical risk. · Experience delivering clinical training and competency assessments. · Experience supervising or managing clinical teams. · Strong safeguarding knowledge. · Excellent clinical judgement, communication and documentation skills. · Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively. · Ability to travel across London and surrounding areas. Desirable · Previous experience as a Clinical Lead, Senior Paediatric Nurse, Complex Care Nurse or Community Children’s Nurse. · Experience working with NHS Continuing Care, ICBs or Local Authorities. · Experience with clinical audits, incident investigations and quality improvement. · Teaching, assessing, mentoring or leadership qualifications. · Knowledge of CQC-regulated community care services.
