Accounts Receivable Assistant – Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable focuses on managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances to support business cash flow.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Raising and issuing invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitoring customer accounts and ensuring prompt collection of payments
  • Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts
  • Investigating and resolving invoice and payment discrepancies
  • Chasing outstanding debts via phone and email professionally
  • Preparing and reviewing aged debtor reports
  • Maintaining accurate records of all transactions
  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Liaising with internal teams and clients regarding billing queries
  • Assisting with credit control procedures and improving cash flow
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – essential
  • At least 1 year of Accounts Receivable or Credit Control experience – essential
  • Experience with accounting software (Sage 50 desirable)
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and willing to learn
