Accounts Receivable Assistant – Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable focuses on managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances to support business cash flow.
What You Will Be Doing
- Raising and issuing invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Monitoring customer accounts and ensuring prompt collection of payments
- Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts
- Investigating and resolving invoice and payment discrepancies
- Chasing outstanding debts via phone and email professionally
- Preparing and reviewing aged debtor reports
- Maintaining accurate records of all transactions
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
- Liaising with internal teams and clients regarding billing queries
- Assisting with credit control procedures and improving cash flow
- Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – essential
- At least 1 year of Accounts Receivable or Credit Control experience – essential
- Experience with accounting software (Sage 50 desirable)
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Proactive, self-motivated, and willing to learn
