Invest Northern Ireland is looking for Supply Chain Advisers to join our Supply Chain Resilience and Development Services team.

The role:

  • The Supply Chain Adviser will play a key role in supporting businesses to become more resilient and to adopt better supply chain practices to improve their overall productivity.
  • You will be responsible for:
    • Assessing and identifying opportunities for improvements in the supply chain for Northern Ireland companies within a manufacturing or tradeable services environment and promoting greater efficiency in the supply chain.
    • Conducting in company diagnostics, supporting the development of supply chain improvement deployment plans and facilitating their execution ultimately linked to the business strategy and results.
    • Coaching and mentoring company leaders, individuals and teams in the application and effective deployment of supply chain improvements and techniques to deliver sustainable benefits.
    • Supporting the development and delivery of supply chain training modules and materials as required, including bespoke training sessions to support in-company teams to up-skill and build supply chain capability of company team members to address improvement opportunities.
    • Monitoring training and supply chain improvement activities to ensure identified improvements and benefits are achieved in support of the SCRDS programme objectives.
    • Supporting businesses to assess supply chain skills/potential resource gaps.
    • Acting as project owner, assessing and processing business case applications through casework for approval for potential financial assistance of new dedicated key worker.
    • Supporting opportunities for companies to reshore/nearshore elements of their supply chain in Northern Ireland.
    • Collaborating with wider colleagues and internal/external stakeholders to deliver enhanced supply chain services including support and guidance for FDI opportunities and promotion of supply chain development of NI businesses.

You will have:

  • Recent experience of working within a supply chain context demonstrating clear understanding of the core elements of supply chain management resulting in successful outcomes.
  • Recent experience of successful project management within a supply chain context, including guiding a customer/stakeholder through an improvement/change project, ensuring buy in, expectations met and deadlines achieved.
  • Recent experience of mentoring/coaching in supply chain principles, tools and techniques within a business environment to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Ability, demonstrated through relevant experience, to review a company’s supply chain activities and identify risks/opportunities for improvement as well as developing appropriate action plans that achieved a defined business result.
  • Effective relationship management, communication and presentation skills with proven ability to negotiate, collaborate and influence customers/stakeholders at all levels.
  • Awareness of Lean or Continuous Improvement principles and their practical application within a supply chain environment.
  • You must possess a full current driving licence and have access to a motor vehicle. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants who have a disability and cannot hold a driving licence.
