About the Department/Team: Digital Distribution and Enterprise Engineering (D2E2) is a global team that plans, builds, and delivers digital solutions to help our Sales & Marketing teams grow and retain their business. They provide sales with valuable analytics that provide a holistic view into customer data to help our sales associates make informed decisions.

Operating as part of the D2E2, the Client Reporting and Content team is tasked with maintaining client factsheets, client books, and client biographies for our sales teams. Client Reporting and Content is currently focused on transforming our operating model and improving global taxonomy.

About the Role: The Product Owner (PO) for Distribution Product Data is responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the Agile team focused on product data solutions that support distribution needs. The PO ensures the team backlog is aligned with the needs of distribution stakeholders, business objectives, and Invesco’s technology strategy. As the primary advocate for distribution data consumers, the PO bridges business and technology, driving continuous evolution of data products to support sales, marketing, and client engagement.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Lead Product Data Vision & Strategy: Develop and execute a clear vision and strategy for product data solutions supporting distribution, ensuring alignment with Invesco’s business goals and distribution objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with distribution, investments, sales, marketing, engineering, and data governance teams to define product data requirements, use cases, and roadmap priorities.
  • Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the product data backlog, balancing the needs of distribution stakeholders, regulatory requirements, and technical feasibility.
  • Data Quality & Accessibility: Ensure product data is accurate, timely, and accessible for distribution teams, supporting initiatives such as product launches, sales enablement, and regulatory reporting.
  • Performance Measurement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product data usage, quality, and impact on distribution effectiveness.
  • Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for product distribution data, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management on progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Agile Leadership: Facilitate Epic and Story refinement sessions with the development team and distribution stakeholders. Communicate release and sprint progress using Agile metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement cycles at sprint and release levels, incorporating feedback from distribution users and adapting to changing business needs.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, data standards, and competitor approaches to distribution product data, ensuring Invesco’s solutions remain competitive.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years as a Product Owner, with significant experience in data products or data management, ideally within financial services or asset management. Proven track record working with Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban) and delivering data solutions for distribution or sales organizations.
  • Technical & Business Skills: Strong understanding of investment product data, data governance, and data integration concepts. Ability to translate distribution business needs into technical data requirements. Experience with data quality frameworks and data accessibility best practices.
  • Certifications: Agile Certified Professional certifications preferred (e.g., SAFe Certified Product Owner/Product Manager or equivalent).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Highly organized, self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage daily with cross-functional teams.

The total compensation offered for this position, which includes salary and incentive pay, will vary based on skills, experience and location. The salary range for this position in Illinois is $120,000 to $130,000 annually.
