Your Role:

As a Principal Business Architect, you will lead the strategic application of business architecture across the enterprise, shaping transformation programs and aligning architecture with organizational goals. You will mentor others, establish governance structures, and drive innovation in architectural practices. This role demands a visionary thinker who can influence senior stakeholders, guide multidisciplinary teams, and embed architectural integrity into decision-making processes.

Your Team:

Business Architecture sits with our Enterprise Architecture Team. The Enterprise Architecture team are responsible for enterprise data, application, technology and business architecture. Working with business areas to understand current capabilities and future needs to deliver changes to how they operate.

What you will be doing:

  • Defining and evolving the enterprise business architecture strategy.
  • Leading business architecture efforts for large-scale transformation programs.
  • Mentoring and developing business architecture talent.
  • Establishing governance structures and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Facilitating enterprise-level collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Driving innovation in problem-solving and architectural methodologies.
  • Advising senior leadership and shaping strategic partnerships.
  • Championing a culture of architectural thinking and continuous improvement.

What you will bring:

  • A recognized expert in the field of Business Architecture bringing extensive experience as business architect, preferably within financial services firms.
  • Experience in defining principles, standards, and roadmaps.
  • Experience using an enterprise architecture tooling (Ardoq preferred) to provide business architecture insights.
  • Experienced working with engineering teams and business partners implementing architecture strategies.
  • Experienced in business architecture approaches, ideally with knowledge of BizBok.
  • Proven ability to guide teams through ambiguity and transformation.
  • Proficient in using ArchiMate or other modelling techniques for business strategy and motivation (exposure to technology and application layers desirable).
  • Deep understanding of Operating Models, strategic planning, and organizational design.
  • Advanced capability in business capability management, value stream mapping, and strategic portfolio alignment.
  • TOGAF Practitioner and working towards CBA Level 1 certification.
  • Strong business acumen in financial services, investments, and asset management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills in building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and lead others without direct line management.
