Your Role

We are seeking a Principal Business Analyst to join a fast-paced, high-performing global team tasked with envisioning, designing, and deploying scalable technology solutions to support Invesco's Equity Investments business. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team that values input from individuals with a solid foundation in technology and business processes in the investments space. The ideal candidate is focused on speed, quality, automation, and continuous delivery, with a culture of innovation and excellence. The role requires adaptability to evolving technology and a strong desire to learn and apply new skills and best practices.

Investment Technology - EMEA Investments is a diverse Agile squad delivering in-house and third-party applications and services for the global Fundamental Equity Front Office, including Research, Order Management and Execution, Trading, and data flows for post-trade functions.

What you will be doing

  • Liaise with Front Office business partners to solicit detailed requirements for designs and implementations aligned with strategic goals.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain documented requirements for system and process enhancements.
  • Own project management of smaller initiatives, including delivery status updates and risk/issue management.
  • Encourage forward-thinking approaches and explore alternatives.
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets, Investment Compliance, Investment Services, and external vendors on project delivery.
  • Partner with Technology colleagues to collaborate on cross-functional deliverables.
  • Provide consultative assistance to Engineering Run/Support teams as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships to identify technology-enabled opportunities.
  • Focus on leveraging data capabilities to elicit insights and build solutions for investment and trading communities.
  • Utilize AI skills and tools to meet business requirements and, in some cases, build/maintain AI solutions.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience in asset management or investment banking.
  • Exposure to equity, fixed income, and derivative instruments.
  • Understanding of order management systems (ideally Charles River or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to engage partners to understand challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of producing presentations and solution design documents.
  • Active participant in Agile ceremonies; collaborate with Scrum Master and Product Owners on backlog prioritization.
  • Ability to partner with BAs and engineers to derive solutions.
  • Passionate about technology, continuous learning, and applying new technologies.
  • Background in data science techniques and deep data analysis.
  • Knowledge of AWS, microservices (Kubernetes, Docker), API development, and DevOps, or willingness to train.
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across senior business users, IT management, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work in a global, multicultural environment and influence at all levels.
  • Proactive, customer-focused attitude with strong service fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to manage conflict, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Maintenance of up-to-date knowledge in relevant technical areas.
  • Desire to learn, progress, and take on challenging work.
