Invesco has long been one of the leading investment managers in the UK market with significant retail and institutional businesses. This role will be responsible for helping to drive and execute Invesco’s sales strategy across the largest corporate defined benefit and defined contribution pensions schemes in the UK. Working with multiple investment centres and senior leaders across the company, this role is key to the growth of assets and revenues across Invesco’s UK pensions business, mainly through direct contacts with clients or through leveraging consultant relationships.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Work with the Head of UK Pensions team and existing Sales Director to develop and implement Invesco’s sales strategy for large UK corporate pension schemes and ensure appropriate approach and coverage - achieving sales targets within the timescales set.
- Identify and drive sales conversations across multiple opportunity types (DB, DC, single product sales, solutions/ outcome orientated sales, ETFs, treasury and liquidity).
- Provide strategic account planning and a solution led sales approach (including cross-selling where appropriate) for an agreed list of clients and prospective clients.
- Identify, develop and maintain professional relationships with key clients, independent trustees, field consultants, prospects and industry contacts to establish an effective network to develop the status of a trusted strategic partner.
- Develop and regularly maintain client plans and contact tracking information for all key contacts so that accurate, up-to-date information is stored regarding clients and activities.
- Conduct effective, professional presentations on the agreed Invesco product range to clients and prospects in a manner that supports the business objectives and delivers clear, concise and relevant information.
- Leverage cutting edge approaches to support clients as effectively as possible, e.g. Invesco’s digital capabilities and thought leadership.
- Establish close liaison with other members of the UK Distribution team, consultant team, solutions team, product directors and fund managers as appropriate.
- Ensure all activities are in line with TCF outcomes.
Work Experience / Knowledge
- Proven sales success working with UK institutional clients and in particular large (strategic) clients.
- A strong appreciation of the sales and client management lifecycle as it pertains to the UK corporate pensions industry.
- Appreciation and experience of cross-selling to existing clients and providing a consultative, solutions approach to sales.
- A strong understanding of large, complex clients, and a systematic approach to covering them.
- A technical understanding of all major asset classes, investment theory and practice.
- Up to date knowledge of current economic environment, regulations and relevant initiatives by competitors.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills.
- Sound interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Possesses energy and drive.
- Ability to interface and partner with internal teams across Europe and globally.
