We’re looking for a Senior Sustainability Compliance Analyst with strong practical experience in biofuel sustainability compliance, ideally gained within an ISCC, RTFO, RED or related regulated environment. This role will take ownership of key FAME compliance activity, ensuring mass balance positions, sustainability documentation and audit trails are accurate, compliant and well controlled. You’ll validate incoming Proofs of Sustainability, support outgoing customer allocations, maintain accurate records in Greenergy’s ERM system and work closely with Trading and Biofuel Operations to resolve queries and manage compliance risk. This is a role for someone who can work confidently with complex data, understand the commercial context and provide clear guidance where discrepancies or risks arise.

We have one opportunity available which can be based from either our London or Manchester office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for FAME mass balance compliance, ensuring activity is managed in line with ISCC certification requirements, contractual obligations and applicable sustainability criteria.
  • Demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of the ISCC certification system, including mass balance principles, Proofs of Sustainability and relevant audit requirements.
  • Work closely with the Biofuel Operations and Trading teams to ensure ISCC mass balance positions are understood, accurately recorded and maintained within compliance limits.
  • Validate incoming Proofs of Sustainability ensuring compliance with contractual terms and ISCC criteria. Issue outgoing allocations for sales to customers whilst adhering to internal controls.
  • Enter and maintain accurate sustainability and transactional information in Greenergy’s ERM system to support mass balance reporting and reconciliation.
  • Support the preparation of documentation, data and evidence required for ISCC recertification audits and RTFC applications.
  • Maintain accurate records and audit trails to support internal review, external audit and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Support Finance and ESG teams when necessary.
  • Travel to other Greenergy offices and biodiesel plants when required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Proven experience working in biofuel sustainability compliance, renewable fuels compliance, fuel trading compliance or a closely related regulated environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of ISCC, RTFO, RED/RED II/RED III or equivalent sustainability certification schemes.
  • Strong understanding of mass balance principles, sustainability criteria, Proofs of Sustainability and audit requirements.
  • Experience validating sustainability documentation, maintaining accurate sustainability positions and supporting outgoing allocations or customer documentation.
  • Experience working with terminals, storage locations, voyage or movement data, blending activity or physical fuel supply chains would be advantageous.
  • Experience using ERP, CTRM, ERM or similar business systems to maintain compliance and transactional records.
  • Experience supporting external audits, certification reviews, regulatory reporting or RTFC applications.
  • Experience improving compliance processes, controls, templates or reporting tools would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience reconciling complex datasets and maintaining robust audit trails.
  • Able to identify discrepancies, assess compliance risk and escalates issues with clear recommendations.
  • Confident working with trading, operations, finance, ESG and compliance stakeholders to resolve data queries and maintain compliant positions.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work accurately in a regulated, audit‑focused environment.
