Managing Director – Finance & Core Functions
Job Title: Product Control VP or Director
Location: London
Working Style: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 from home)
A leading global financial services firm is seeking a senior-level Product Control VP or Director to take ownership of the product control function supporting its Prime Brokerage and Equities business lines.
This is a high-impact leadership role, offering visibility to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to shape and enhance financial controls across a dynamic and growing trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily P&L production and balance sheet substantiation for Prime Brokerage and Equities desks
- Manage and mentor a team of product controllers working across equity and structured product trading
- Ensure timely, accurate P&L attribution, valuation adjustments, and balance sheet integrity
- Act as a key liaison between Product Control, Front Office, Risk, Finance, and Operations teams
- Deliver strategic insights and commercial analysis on trading and risk performance to senior management
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory frameworks including PRA and Fed reporting requirements
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements
- Represent Product Control in internal audits, governance forums, and regulatory reviews
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Deep experience in product control within a Prime Brokerage and/or Equities environment
- Strong understanding of equity derivatives and structured products
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across the business
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with P&L and front-office systems
