Overview
In this role, you will support the London finance team in a fast-paced trading environment, handling accounting, reporting and control activities. You’ll work closely with trading, shipping and operations to improve processes and manage cash flow and FX exposures. You’ll also contribute to projects and system implementations to enhance trade accounting. This is a hands-on position with broad exposure to month-end close, P&L, and forecasting in a global commodities business.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end accounting activities including accruals and intercompany reconciliations
- Prepare monthly forward books and calculate mark-to-market P&L for physical trading activity
- Partner with trading, shipping and operations teams to respond to finance queries and improve processes
- Own monthly cash flow forecasting
- Support FX exposure management and related financial controls
- Contribute to finance projects, process improvements and new trade accounting systems implementation
Key requirements
- Qualified accountant
- Experience in commodities, trading or fast-paced financial environments desirable
- Strong month-end accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting understanding
- Advanced Excel skills with large data manipulation/analysis experience
