Overview
In this role you will provide strategic employment law guidance within a large international bank, supporting Europe and Asia‑Pacific operations. You will handle both contentious and non‑contentious matters, collaborating with HR and senior leaders across multiple jurisdictions. The role combines risk assessment, investigations, and regulatory monitoring in a complex, highly regulated environment. You will shape cross‑border employment strategies and work with external counsel to manage matters and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic employment law advice across Europe and Asia-Pacific to HR and business leaders
- Advis e on hiring, contracts, compensation, restructuring, immigration, and workplace rights
- Manage employment disputes and develop case strategies
- Lead and support HR and employee investigations
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise on impact
- Oversee external counsel relationships, including performance and costs
- Collaborate on cross-border and global employment matters with the wider Legal function
- Support broader legal, regulatory, and business projects as needed
Key requirements
- Extensive UK employment law experience in private practice or in-house
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
- Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Strong risk awareness in a complex/regulated org
- Experience advising across multiple jurisdictions or internationally
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters and priorities
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior colleagues
