A local authority is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Officer to join its Communications team on a temporary basis, with genuine potential for the role to become permanent. This role will support a major period of organisational change and requires someone who can combine behaviour-change communications with hands-on video production to engage and motivate internal audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering internal change communications using recognised change and behavioural frameworks (e.g. COM‑B, OASIS or similar)
  • Planning, filming and editing high‑quality internal video content to support change programmes and leadership messaging
  • Turning complex organisational change into clear, engaging internal communications
  • Managing content across intranet, newsletters, email and internal channels
  • Working closely with HR, OD and senior stakeholders

About You:

  • Proven experience in internal communications, ideally within a local authority or public‑sector environment
  • Strong experience in change communications and change methodology
  • Hands‑on video production skills (filming and editing)
  • Excellent writing skills and strong visual storytelling capability
