Job Title: Financial Accountant (12-Month Contract)
Location: Filton, with a minimum of 60% onsite attendance
Contract Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of extension
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: Up to £43.62 per hour (via Umbrella) or £32.98 per hour (PAYE)
Work Pattern: 35 hours per week
About the Role:
We are working with a leading organisation in the aerospace and defence industry to hire a Financial Accountant . This is a valuable opportunity to support the establishment of a new entity following a significant acquisition. The role will focus on defining financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Pre-deal responsibilities:
- Setting up lead ledgers in SAP
- Assisting with due diligence on opening balance sheets
- Loading assets into SAP with correct attributes
- Defining and documenting key financial processes and controls
- Ensuring internal controls align with enterprise risk management requirements
- Post-deal responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly consolidation packages and statutory accounts
- Applying IFRS and UK GAAP standards
- Overseeing internal controls and reporting risks and opportunities
- Improving financial processes and procedures
- Analysing data trends and providing accurate reporting
- Supporting internal and external audits
Requirements:
- Essential:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting standards
- SAP or equivalent financial reporting tool expertise
- Experience working in a professional accounting team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and continuous improvement mindset
- Desirable:
- Mergers and Acquisitions experience
Additional Information:
- Travel may be required (1-2 days per month within the UK)
- Security clearance (BPSS+) will be required
