A well-established London-based bank is looking for an experienced Corporate & Commercial Credit Analyst to join its Corporate & Commercial Banking division. This role is designed to support Relationship Managers and the Associate Director with independent credit assessments, portfolio management, and first-line risk controls.
This is an excellent opportunity for a credit professional with strong analytical capabilities, sector insight, and financial acumen to work closely with business development teams while contributing directly to risk mitigation and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct independent credit assessments for new and existing corporate clients, including in-depth analysis of financial statements, industry risks, and credit structuring.
Draft and present credit proposals, identifying key risks and proposing mitigations in line with policy.
Monitor and report on credit exposures, portfolio concentrations, and covenant compliance.
Liaise with second-line risk teams to ensure risk alignment and robust credit structuring.
Support Relationship Managers with periodic reviews, renewals, and excess monitoring.
Assist in the design and improvement of credit risk procedures and documentation.
Collaborate with stakeholders across risk, compliance, and front-office functions.
Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations including SMCR and Consumer Duty obligations.
You will need:
Strong experience in Corporate or Commercial Banking, ideally within the UK.
Strong knowledge of international trade finance and structured finance products.
Experience working with or within Emerging markets is highly desirable.
Skilled in interpreting financial data and preparing detailed credit analysis.
Familiar with credit risk frameworks, financial regulations (Basel III, IFRS 9), and KYC requirements.
Strong Excel skills; knowledge of Python, SQL or Power BI is a plus.
Recognised professional qualifications advantageous.
