We are looking for a highly capable and detail-oriented Finance Manager to take ownership of our financial processes, controls, and reporting. This is a hands-on role with strategic importance, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact across financial planning, reporting, compliance, and operational decision-making. You’ll manage the day-to-day finance function, oversee transactional finance support, and work closely with leadership on commercial initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Processes & Control: Ensure robust financial controls are in place, continuously reviewing and improving existing finance processes to maintain accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Team Oversight: Manage one transactional team member (Accounts Receivable), and coordinate with outsourced providers for Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
- Management Accounting: Lead the production of accurate monthly management accounts, including revenue recognition and performance commentary.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Carry out regular balance sheet reconciliations and prepare financial board reports, offering insights and recommendations based on financial data.
- Statutory Compliance & Audit: Manage statutory accounts and lead audit and tax processes, ensuring all submissions are accurate and compliant with regulations.
- Tax Management: Oversee all areas of tax compliance including PAYE, VAT, and liaise with external advisors as necessary.
- Cash Flow & Treasury: Monitor and manage company cash flow, including foreign exchange (FX), interest, and liquidity, to support operational needs and mitigate risk.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Build and maintain financial planning models, manage forecasts and budgets, and provide financial guidance to support business objectives.
- Commercial Support: Partner with leadership on pricing strategies, commercial proposals, annual pricing reviews, and procurement decisions to ensure financial viability and value.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar role with responsibility for full finance function.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent understanding of financial regulations, tax, and audit practices.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to provide strategic insight and support decision-making.
- Experience managing or mentoring finance staff and working with outsourced partners.
- Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
