We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a high growth, Private Equity backed FinTech organisation as they continue to scale. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of payroll operations within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. You’ll work closely with People, Finance and other internal teams, helping to deliver a smooth and reliable payroll process while supporting the business as it grows.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process for employees across the UK and Europe.
  • Ensuring payroll is processed accurately, efficiently and on time.
  • Preparing and reviewing payroll data, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses and benefits.
  • Managing payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments.
  • Completing payroll reconciliations and working closely with Finance on payroll-related reporting.
  • Supporting pension administration and other payroll-related benefits.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation.
  • Working with external payroll providers and other third parties where appropriate.
  • Supporting payroll audits and year-end activities, including P11Ds and P60s.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and automate payroll processes as the business scales.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working in a payroll-focused role, ideally within a fast-growing or complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll processes and legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
  • Comfortable working with payroll systems, HR systems and Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Good communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
  • A high level of discretion when handling confidential employee information.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Experience working within financial services, technology or a high-growth environment would be useful, but isn’t essential.
