We are seeking a newly qualified accountant (0–2 years PQE) to join a dynamic and fast-paced macro hedge fund based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded individual to gain broad exposure across fund accounting, financial reporting, and business operations within a high-performing investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assist with NAV calculations and investor reporting
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Support the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors
- Work closely with fund administrators to oversee fund accounting activities
- Review reconciliations (cash, positions, P&L) and investigate discrepancies
- Assist in monitoring portfolio valuations and pricing sources
- Produce internal management accounts and variance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support investment and operational decisions
Controls & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements
- Support implementation and improvement of financial processes and systems
Candidate Profile
- 0–2 years post-qualified experience (PQE)
- Background in audit, fund accounting, or financial services preferred
- Exposure to investment management, hedge funds, or asset management advantageous
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial systems is a plus
