A top international law firm is seeking an exceptional Managing Associate (7–8+ PQE) to join its highly regarded Contentious Trusts & Private Wealth Disputes team in London. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced private wealth disputes lawyer to step into a role offering a genuinely transparent and supported path to partnership within the next 18-24 months.
The team is widely recognised in leading legal directories and advises on some of the most complex, high-value and international private wealth disputes in the market. Clients include:
- Ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families
- Entrepreneurs and business owners
- Trustees and fiduciaries across multiple jurisdictions
The practice has a strong cross-border focus, including significant work across Asia and other global wealth centres, and is particularly known for handling multi-jurisdictional trust disputes and matters involving complex structuring and taxation issues.
Following a series of recent hires at mid and junior levels, and with further senior investment into the wider private wealth offering, the team is in a position of real strength and is now looking to appoint a senior lawyer who can play a key role in its next phase of growth. Crucially, the firm is committed to developing future partners from within. You will be enrolled from day one into a structured internal progression programme, offering clear visibility on expectations, timelines and the pathway to partnership.
This is a senior and highly visible position within the team. You will:
- Lead and manage complex contentious trusts and private wealth disputes
- Take ownership of client relationships and act as a key point of contact
- Drive case strategy, working closely with partners on high-value matters
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers within the team
- Play an active role in business development and raising the team’s profile
- Contribute to the continued growth and strategic direction of the practice
The ideal candidate will have:
- England & Wales qualification with 7–8+ years’ PQE from a leading firm
- Strong experience in contentious trusts and private wealth disputes
- A proven track record of working on complex, high-value and cross-border matters
- Excellent technical grounding and a strong command of black letter law
- Demonstrable experience leading matters and managing client relationships
- Outstanding drafting, analytical and communication skills
