Restructuring & Insolvency Associate (2–5 PQE)

Location: London (Hybrid Working)

Contract: Permanent | Full-Time

The Opportunity

A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Restructuring & Insolvency Associate (2–5 PQE) to join its high-performing team in London. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing practice known for handling complex, high-value domestic and cross-border matters.

The firm advises across the full spectrum of financial restructurings, formal insolvency processes, distressed investments, and contentious insolvency. Clients include top-tier financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, funds, corporates, and creditors.

This is an excellent role for a technically strong and commercially savvy lawyer looking to take the next step in a collegiate, entrepreneurial environment with real career progression.

You will be joining a lean but successful team of 8 lawyers, with a number of Legal 500 recognized Partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on both contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters
  • Acting for administrators, liquidators, lenders, distressed investors, corporates, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting on UK formal insolvency procedures including administrations, liquidations, CVAs, and schemes of arrangement
  • Working on distressed M&A, restructuring plans (including Part 26A), and security enforcement
  • Drafting and negotiating restructuring documentation, security documents, and court applications
  • Managing cross-border mandates in collaboration with overseas offices

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 2–5 years’ PQE
  • Solid experience in restructuring and insolvency, ideally from a recognised City or leading regional/international firm
  • Comfortable working on both advisory and transactional matters; contentious experience also welcome
  • Commercially minded with strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Confident, personable, and proactive with strong communication skills
  • A team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
