Overview

A leading international law firm is looking to hire a junior-to-mid level associate to join its London Derivatives & Structured Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of high-profile derivatives and structured finance transactions for global clients, including banks, corporates and investment funds. You will be part of a team of 20 specialist lawyers, providing an excellent environment for learning, collaboration, and exposure to complex cross-border transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating documentation for derivatives and structured finance transactions, including OTC derivatives, structured products, repo/stock-lending, collateral arrangements, and security structures.
• Advising on regulatory, tax, accounting, and funding issues in connection with structured finance and derivatives deals.
• Supporting cross-border transactions, liaising with international teams where required.
• Conducting due diligence, risk analysis, and providing commercial, client‑focused advice.
• Working alongside senior lawyers on complex and high‑value transactions, gaining exposure to industry‑leading work.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified solicitor (or on track to qualify) with NQ–5 PQE.
• Training or experience at a top City or international law firm.
• Proven experience in derivatives transactions, in training or qualification.
• Strong drafting skills and comfort working with complex documentation.
• Commercial awareness and ability to understand regulatory, tax, and market issues affecting transactions.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively within a team and with clients.
• Self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment.
