We are working with a leading US-headquartered international law firm with one of the largest global platforms in the market. The London office has a long-established and highly regarded Corporate team, which plays a central role in the firm’s wider international M&A offering.
The practice is fully integrated across the US, Europe, and Asia, meaning London associates work closely with global colleagues on complex, high-value, cross-border transactions for a sophisticated client base that includes corporates, financial sponsors, and institutional investors. The environment is fast-paced, commercially driven, and highly collaborative, with strong investment in the continued growth of the London platform.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Corporate M&A Associate to join a busy and expanding London team. The successful candidate will have solid experience across both public and private M&A, ideally with significant exposure to cross-border transactions and a track record of working across the full deal lifecycle. The work is broad and high quality, covering everything from initial structuring discussions through to execution and completion. You will be expected to take real ownership on transactions, working closely with partners and senior lawyers, as well as interacting directly with clients.
At this level, the role combines hands-on deal execution with increasing client exposure and involvement in the commercial aspects of transactions.
Key Responsibilities- The role will involve advising on both share and asset sale transactions, including structuring key deal terms and supporting clients through all stages of execution.
- You will be expected to take responsibility for managing due diligence processes, overseeing disclosure exercises, and drafting and negotiating principal transaction documentation.
- A significant part of the work also includes advising on joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, and broader general corporate advisory matters.
- You will liaise regularly with clients and coordinate input from specialist teams across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring seamless execution on cross-border deals.
- In addition, you will be encouraged to contribute to business development initiatives and help build client relationships as part of the wider team effort.
- A strong emphasis is placed on managing matters efficiently, maintaining excellent client service standards, and ensuring all work is delivered to a high professional standard, including strict confidentiality and risk awareness.
We are looking for a technically strong Corporate M&A lawyer who has worked across the full lifecycle of transactions, including non-disclosure agreements, exclusivity arrangements, term sheets, due diligence processes, and the drafting and negotiation of key transaction documents. Above all, the firm is looking for someone with a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgement.
QualificationsCandidates should be qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales, or be qualified in another jurisdiction with relevant experience in the London market. A strong academic background is expected, with a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent.
