A leading US law firm is looking to hire an Associate into its highly regarded Technology Regulatory practice in London. The team advises some of the world’s most innovative technology businesses on complex and rapidly evolving regulatory issues across AI, online safety, digital platforms and emerging technology. This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated international practice operating at the intersection of technology and regulation, working on issues that are increasingly central to the way technology companies operate globally.

The successful candidate will advise leading technology and digital businesses across a broad range of emerging regulatory matters, including:

  • The EU AI Act, EU Digital Services Act and UK Online Safety Act
  • Content moderation and digital platform regulation
  • Technology-related regulatory investigations and enforcement
  • Regulatory engagement with bodies including Ofcom and the European Commission
  • AI-related regulatory risk, compliance and investigations
  • Advising clients as they navigate rapidly developing technology regulation across multiple jurisdictions
  • Supporting clients on the practical implementation of new and emerging regulatory requirements

The role will involve significant client interaction and the opportunity to take ownership of substantial matters, working alongside lawyers across the firm's international technology regulatory practice.

This is not traditional regulatory work. The practice sits at the intersection of technology, AI and emerging regulation, advising innovative businesses on some of the most significant regulatory questions facing the technology sector. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a strong market profile in technology and AI regulation, while working with sophisticated technology clients and on matters that are often at the forefront of regulatory developments.

The firm is looking for a lawyer with:

  • A strong tech regulatory background
  • Experience advising on, or a clear interest in, technology, AI, online safety or digital platform regulation
  • Experience with relevant UK and/or EU regulatory frameworks
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills
  • The ability to provide clear, commercially focused and practical advice
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients and taking ownership of matters
  • An interest in developing a specialist practice within the rapidly evolving technology regulatory space
