We are currently partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit an Associate-level lawyer for their highly regarded Corporate Trusts & Agency team in London. Having previously placed two associates into this team, we can confidently say it is an outstanding, supportive group offering genuinely interesting, complex and high-profile work.
The Corporate Trusts & Agency team advises on a wide variety of international and domestic transactions, including:
- Corporate debt and high-yield
- Convertibles and subordinated debt
- Debt programmes
- Repackagings
- Securitisations, including:
- CMBS
- RMBS
- Master trust structures
- Project bonds
- CDOs and other structured products
You will also gain extensive experience advising loan agents on syndicated loan facilities, working closely with stakeholders across the capital markets and banking ecosystem.
As an Associate in this team, you will:
- Act for corporate trustees, agents and other corporate services providers on a broad range of finance transactions
- Draft, review and negotiate trust deeds, agency agreements, security documents and related finance documentation
- Advise on the ongoing administration, restructuring and enforcement of finance transactions
- Work on cross-border, market-leading matters alongside lawyers in London and across the firm’s international network
- Take early responsibility for matters while receiving strong guidance from experienced partners and senior lawyers
This role offers an excellent platform to develop a specialist practice in corporate trusts and agency work within the broader structured finance and capital markets space.
This position would suit:
- A lawyer with a broad banking/finance background and a strong interest in corporate trusts and agency work; or
- A Structured Finance, Securitisation or Debt Capital Markets (DCM) lawyer looking to pivot into a more specialist, technically challenging area of law.
You will likely have:
- 1–5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in corporate trusts, banking & finance, structured finance, securitisation or DCM
- Strong document negotiation and drafting skills
- A genuine interest in complex capital markets and structured finance products
- The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- A proactive, solutions-focused and commercial approach
