We are exclusively partnered with a globally recognised life sciences and genomics technology innovator to appoint a Director of Biopharma Sales. This organisation is widely regarded as a pioneer in next-generation sequencing, enabling real-time, high-impact insights across research, translational science, and applied healthcare worldwide. This is a senior, revenue-critical leadership role directly with the company, offering the opportunity to shape commercial strategy and accelerate growth across the Biopharma sector.
The role is ideally based in the UK, with flexibility to be based in the DACH region, and requires 60β70% travel across EMEAI.
The Role
As Director of Biopharma Sales, you will take full ownership of revenue delivery across the Biopharma segment in EMEAI. You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating market opportunity into scalable commercial success within a fast-evolving genomics and healthcare environment. This position carries significant strategic influence. You will define the regional sales vision, anticipate industry and customer shifts, and lead high-performing teams to deliver sustained growth. Your decisions will directly impact business performance, market positioning, and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver Biopharma revenue targets across EMEAI
- Develop and execute a clear, forward-looking commercial strategy aligned with global business objectives
- Anticipate market, technology, and customer trends within Biopharma and genomics, positioning the organisation ahead of competitors
- Lead, coach, and inspire senior sales leaders and teams to consistently exceed targets
- Embed a performance-driven sales culture, focused on accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence
- Drive effective use of CRM systems, sales processes, and data to inform decision-making and forecasting
- Build a strong talent pipeline through mentoring, development, and succession planning
- Ensure alignment between sales execution and broader strategic priorities, adapting plans as markets evolve
- Encourage innovation, ownership, and intelligent risk-taking across teams
Experience & Background
- BSc, MSc, or PhD (or equivalent experience), ideally within life sciences, genetics, or genomics
- Proven commercial leadership experience within Biopharma, life sciences, or adjacent high-technology markets
- Strong track record of driving revenue growth, either directly or through channel partner models
- Experience leading and developing high-performing, international commercial teams
- Deep understanding of research and life science customer environments
- Knowledge of DNA sequencing technologies and their commercial application
- Confident user of CRM systems and data-led sales methodologies
- Fluent in English, with strong executive-level communication and influencing skills
- Commercially astute, highly motivated, and comfortable operating in a global, fast-paced organisation
