Senior Data Engineer | London | Specialty Insurance
Invecta is working exclusively with a specialty insurer to build out a data engineering and AI transformation team.
The Senior Data Engineer will help design, deliver and embed modern data engineering and analytics capability within the pricing and analytics function.
This is a high-impact role, central to the organisation's ambition to become a genuinely data-driven business, where analytical insight underpins pricing, portfolio analytics and wider business decision-making.
The successful candidate will operate as an embedded member of a small, senior pricing and analytics team, with a particular focus on the Snowflake data platform, hands‑on delivery, and the ongoing development of team capability.
The work centres on Snowflake: the ETL pipelines, analytical datasets, dashboards and APIs that pricing actuaries and analysts rely on, plus proofs of concept for what's next.
- Candidate Requirements
- Hands‑on data engineering experience, ideally including exposure to Snowflake or a comparable cloud data platform.
- A pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset, paired with genuine curiosity about modern data technologies.
- Comfortable operating within an embedded team model with evolving priorities, rather than a fixed, long‑range plan.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders from both technical and business backgrounds.
- A proactive approach to knowledge sharing, coaching and capability building.
Experience operating within the insurance domain is essential to be considered for this position.
This is a permanent, hybrid role based in London (City), requiring office attendance multiple days per week.
