We’re excited to be growing our business and, as part of that growth, we’re looking for an exceptional General Manager to join our team and grow with us. This opportunity may initially be a bench position, where you’ll support and lead across different Itsu franchise locations while we prepare for your permanent store placement. Our aim is to develop and support the right person before placing them into a permanent General Manager position as our business continues to grow.

Are you a passionate hospitality leader who leads from the front? This is much more than a role behind a desk. We’re looking for a hands-on, visible leader who is at the heart of the operation — someone who enjoys being on the floor, working alongside their team, supporting a busy service and setting the standards through their own example.

As General Manager, you’ll have full responsibility for your store's people, performance, operational standards and local growth, with the autonomy to make a real difference to the success of your business.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • People: Build, lead and develop a high-performing team and create a positive culture where people can thrive.
  • Performance: Drive sales, profitability and KPIs, using data and commercial insight to identify opportunities and deliver results.
  • Operations: Be hands-on in the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring an exceptional customer experience and consistently high standards.
  • Local Marketing & Community: Take ownership of driving your store’s local presence. Build relationships with local businesses, schools, offices and community groups, identify local partnership opportunities and bring creative ideas to life to increase awareness, footfall and sales.
  • Business Growth: Proactively look for new ways to grow the business, create local excitement around the restaurant and ensure your store is a recognised and valued part of the local community.
  • Standards: Own food safety, health & safety, quality and operational compliance.
  • Leadership: Be a visible role model who leads from the front, gets stuck in and inspires the team to deliver their best every day.
  • Accountability: Take ownership of your store and have the confidence to make decisions, solve problems and drive continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for:

  • We’re looking for an experienced General Manager, Restaurant Manager or Hospitality Leader who is:
  • Passionate about people and customer experience
  • Commercially driven and results-focused
  • Passionate about local marketing and growing a business within its community
  • Comfortable building relationships with local businesses and community partners
  • Creative and proactive in finding new ways to drive sales
  • Comfortable leading a fast-paced, high-volume operation
  • Hands-on, energetic and resilient
  • A strong coach who develops and inspires others
  • Someone who leads by example and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves
  • Able to travel between different locations as required
  • Has access to a car and is flexible to work across different sites
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as required by the business

We’re also open to hearing from ambitious Assistant Managers, Deputy Managers or experienced Restaurant Managers who are ready to step up into their first General Manager role. If you have the right attitude, leadership potential, commercial mindset and passion to grow a business, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for potential as well as experience and are committed to supporting the right person to succeed.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary + bonus opportunity
  • Pension
  • 50% discount across the full Itsu estate
  • Free meals while on shift
  • Team socials and events
  • The opportunity to grow your career with a growing franchise business
  • The opportunity to grow with the business and move into a permanent General Manager position as new locations become available

Location: Oxford and Reading areas

Salary: Competitive salary package depending on experience + Bonus

Full-time | 45 hours per week

Access to a car is preferred but not essential
