The opportunity
Our client is a specialist investment manager looking to recruit an Investment Director for an Africa-focused private credit fund.
The role will focus on originating, structuring, executing and managing debt investments across the agrifood value chain and financial sector.
Responsibilities
- Originate and execute private credit investments across Africa.
- Lead investment screening, due diligence, structuring and closing.
- Prepare investment papers and present opportunities to investment committees.
- Structure tailored debt and trade finance solutions.
- Manage portfolio relationships and monitor credit, compliance and impact performance.
- Work with co-investors, lenders and external advisers throughout transactions.
- Support investor reporting, fundraising and broader business development.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in private credit, debt investing, banking, trade finance or investment roles.
- Strong experience executing and managing cross-border debt transactions.
- Knowledge of African agrifood value chains and/or the African banking sector.
- Strong credit analysis, structuring and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Agribusiness or a related discipline.
- Fluent in English; French or Portuguese would be advantageous.
