The opportunity

Our client is a specialist investment manager looking to recruit an Investment Director for an Africa-focused private credit fund.

The role will focus on originating, structuring, executing and managing debt investments across the agrifood value chain and financial sector.

Responsibilities

  • Originate and execute private credit investments across Africa.
  • Lead investment screening, due diligence, structuring and closing.
  • Prepare investment papers and present opportunities to investment committees.
  • Structure tailored debt and trade finance solutions.
  • Manage portfolio relationships and monitor credit, compliance and impact performance.
  • Work with co-investors, lenders and external advisers throughout transactions.
  • Support investor reporting, fundraising and broader business development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in private credit, debt investing, banking, trade finance or investment roles.
  • Strong experience executing and managing cross-border debt transactions.
  • Knowledge of African agrifood value chains and/or the African banking sector.
  • Strong credit analysis, structuring and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Agribusiness or a related discipline.
  • Fluent in English; French or Portuguese would be advantageous.
