Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Architect with a strong background in infrastructure architecture to join our dynamic team in London. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Java, Kafka MSK, and EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), as well as proficiency with Splunk for monitoring and performance management. You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing application architectures for mission-critical systems. Your ability to translate business needs into technical solutions will be key in shaping the future of our platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of complex application infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to develop and implement solutions that align with business requirements.
• Architect and implement robust, efficient, and secure solutions using Java, Kafka MSK, and EKS.
• Design and implement distributed and event-driven systems, leveraging Kafka MSK to ensure high-throughput, low-latency messaging.
• Oversee the integration of containerized applications within EKS, leveraging Kubernetes for orchestration, scaling, and management.
• Utilize Splunk for real-time log aggregation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices in application design, security, and compliance.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior architects and engineers.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to optimize system performance and architecture.
• Stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends, and drive the adoption of best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Application Architect, Infrastructure Architect, or similar role.
• Strong expertise in Java application development and architecture and hands-on experience with Kafka MSK (Managed Streaming for Kafka) for building scalable and fault-tolerant data streaming applications.
• Extensive experience with EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and Kubernetes in containerized application architecture.
• Proficient in using Splunk for log aggregation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and architect complex solutions.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices.
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices in infrastructure and application design.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with diverse teams in an Agile environment.
