The Role

We are seeking a skilled MS Fabric Data Engineer(s) to join our team, ideally initially on a contract basis, however longer term there is potential to discuss longer term opportunities in the shape of a permanent consultant opportunity. We can move fast and adapt our selection period to our needs – with this in mind, immediate or quick availability is ideal, alongside permanent rights to work are essential, alongside other factors we will consider.

Within this role you will be expected to:

  • Build and maintain end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including Data Engineering, Data Factory, and Data Warehouse capabilities.
  • Design, manage, and optimise data storage within OneLake, ensuring well-governed, well-structured, and shareable data assets.
  • Develop scalable Spark (PySpark/Spark SQL) data transformations through Fabric notebooks to support high-volume processing.
  • Create, orchestrate, and monitor robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Fabric Data Factory.
  • Implement strong governance, security, and data lineage practices using Microsoft Purview.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment of Fabric assets, notebooks, and data pipelines.

Skills and Experience

As much as we just love working with great, fun people, there are some obvious required Skills and Experience we are going to be seeking out. For this role we would be expecting to see:

  • Proven expertise across core Microsoft Fabric workloads and the unified analytics environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark-based processing frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of lakehouse architecture, including Delta/Parquet formats and data modelling.
  • Experience designing secure, compliant, and well-governed data platforms.

Nice-to-have: MS Fabric certification.
