About the Role
We are recruiting for a Team Leader to join a residential childrens home in Northampton. This is a key leadership role within the home, combining hands-on support with shift leadership to ensure children and young people receive safe, structured, and nurturing care. You will support the Registered Manager and wider team to maintain high standards of safeguarding, care delivery, and regulatory compliance while creating a positive and supportive environment for young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and coordinate staff to deliver consistent, high-quality care
- Provide direct support to children and young people
- Maintain safeguarding standards and professional boundaries
- Support care planning, behaviour management, and risk assessments
- Ensure accurate recording and compliance with regulations
- Mentor and guide Residential Support Workers on shift
- Work flexibly across a 7-day rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Requirements
Essential:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Experience working in a residential childrens home
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Ability to lead shifts and make informed decisions
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous senior or team leader experience
Pay & Benefits
- £14.75 per hour (40 contracted hours)
- £70.50 per sleep-in
