The home is committed to promoting positive development, safety, and wellbeing through a compassionate, values-driven approach. About the Role We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to lead shifts and provide high-quality care for our young people. You will support daily activities, education, and statutory meetings, ensuring a consistent, therapeutic approach. This role includes supervising and mentoring staff, maintaining high standards within the home, and safeguarding the welfare of all residents. Key Responsibilities · Lead shifts, supervise staff, and ensure consistent, high-quality care in line with regulations. · Support young people’s daily routines, education, therapy, and personal development. · Implement care plans, risk assessments, and LAC documentation, attending statutory meetings as required. · Safeguard young people, respond to challenging behaviours, and promote positive outcomes. · Build strong relationships with families, social workers, and external professionals. · Assist with household tasks, budgeting, and maintaining a safe, homely environment. · Contribute to staff induction, training, and professional development. · Complete accurate reports, records, and administrative duties. · Provide cover for management when required and participate in the on-call system. Person Specification / Requirements Qualifications · NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People (essential) · Good standard of English (written and spoken) · Level 4/5 in Health & Social Care, First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, or Health & Safety (desirable) Experience · Supporting young people aged 12–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties · Leading shifts and supervising staff teams · Completing reports and attending multi-agency meetings · Experience with ASC, mental health, or complex needs (desirable) Skills & Attributes · Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills · Resilient, empathetic, and able to handle challenging behaviour · Flexible, person-centred, and committed to safeguarding · Ability to drive home transport (desirable)
