What you will do:
- Guide the architecture, design, and development of scalable customer and client platforms, implementing microservices and integrations across AWS & Azure, enhancing solutions like AWS Connect, Genesys Cloud, payments, web-portals, communications and collection services.
- Set technical direction and engineering standards across teams, promoting modern cloud-native and AI‑augmented engineering practices.
- Mentor and support Software Development Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers, building capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support DevSecOps excellence through CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, automation frameworks, and database‑as‑code practices using Redgate Flyway.
- Take ownership of critical customer systems, ensuring operational resilience, observability, performance optimisation, and rapid incident response.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Delivery, Operations, and Commercial teams to shape technical solutions, delivery plans, and strategic outcomes.
- Promote secure‑by‑design, compliance‑by‑design, and privacy‑by‑design approaches, ensuring alignment with UK GDPR and FCA Consumer Duty requirements.
- Guide the adoption of intelligent platform capabilities, including AI‑enabled workflows, automation, and smart customer engagement solutions.
- Devote to the FCA principle of Consumer Duty by ensuring we are driving good customer outcomes across all aspects of services that have potential to impact our customers.
What we are looking for:
- Extensive experience in software engineering, including experience operating at Principal Engineer or senior technical guidance level.
- Expert knowledge of .NET, React, SQL, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps practices, and test automation.
- Experience working with customer contact platforms such as AWS Connect or Genesys Cloud.
- Proven ability to design and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud‑native solutions within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of observability, operational support, reliability engineering, and end‑to‑end ownership practices.
- Knowledge of regulated financial services environments, including UK GDPR and FCA Consumer Duty requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and collaborate across multiple teams and functions.
