We are a fin-tech start-up with a successful suite of products, now ready to build the next big thing. You must thrive working on open-ended problems across a range of disciplines; we are a start-up where our engineers do much more than just pick up JIRA tickets. A typical week may include debugging Python, deploying infrastructure changes, talking to product early-adopters, and strategic planning with the team leads. Responsibilities

  • Working with product managers, researchers, and other engineers to define cloud-native backend systems and project requirements.
  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services with a strong focus on cloud architecture.
  • Writing clean, well-tested, and production-ready Python code (with opportunities to use Go or Rust where appropriate).
  • Deploying and operating production systems on AWS with an emphasis on reliability, security, and performance.
  • Using Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage cloud resources.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Independent and self-driven learner with a strong interest in cloud infrastructure and backend engineering.
  • Python experience is required; experience or interest in Go and/or Rust is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.
  • Basic to intermediate Kubernetes knowledge.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Loki.
