Job Summary
The role requires an individual with at least 4 years’ experience in the fire engineering field, who can manage projects independently and liaise directly with both clients and design teams. They should run the project from the initial quotation stage through to approval by the Approving Authorities. A key aspect is knowledge of British codes and, beneficially, experience with NFPA.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Manage projects to achieve client satisfaction and profitability targets
- Work within a team environment and instruct engineers and support staff in their work as it relates to the projects under the Senior Engineer’s control
- Control own and staff activities to meet company financial/time targets
- Produce fee proposals
- Review plans and produce mark‑ups to advise the design team on non‑compliances and opportunities for layout improvement through fire engineering
- Write detailed fire strategies
- Undertake zone modelling and CFD modelling; produce reports and present findings to client and design team
- Oversee the production of detailed design drawings of smoke ventilation systems and sprinklers for submission to the client
- Communicate thoughts and ideas to staff, professionals, and clients verbally and in writing
- Undertake site inspections and fire risk assessments
- Manage and value variations to the contract
- Act professionally with all parties to develop the company’s reputation
- Achieve continued professional development relevant to personal and company objectives
- Contribute to the development of the company to enhance its reputation
- Identify new work opportunities with clients and other professionals

- Manage works with fee value of ÂŁ100,000 per annum using office resources
- Achieve total client satisfaction with service delivered
