The Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of their cloud and platform infrastructure. This role sits at the heart of the engineering function, working alongside senior technical leaders to ensure reliability, scalability, and smooth delivery across a complex, high growth environment. You will lead on CI/CD, cloud architecture, automation, containerisation, and infrastructure as code, while embedding strong security and compliance practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
- Partner closely with software engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery and operational excellence.
- Architect, scale, and optimise cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Lead containerisation and orchestration strategy using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop automation scripts and tooling to enhance operational efficiency.
- Embed security, compliance, and best practices across all infrastructure layers.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive reliability improvements.
- Contribute to the on call rotation for incident response and system uptime.
- Mentor and support other DevOps engineers.
- Maintain clear documentation for systems, tooling, and processes.
Key Requirements
- 5+ yearsβ experience in a DevOps/SRE capacity within fast paced engineering teams.
- Strong CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.).
- Proficiency with Python, Bash, Ruby or similar scripting languages.
- Expertise across cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP also considered).
- Hands on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and/or CloudFormation.
- Strong background in Docker and Kubernetes.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Experience with monitoring and logging stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering teams.
- Knowledge of compliance/security frameworks (PCI DSS, SOC2, ISO, GDPR).
- Experience with microservices and serverless environments.
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives in complex environments.
Location & Right to Work
This is an in office role in Central London. Candidates must already have the unrestricted right to work in the UK as sponsorship is not currently available.
