Excellent opportunity opens to join a high growth Fintech as their new Head of DevOps. You will lead the design, build, and scaling of a modern AWS cloud native infrastructure within a fast growing, technology led Fintech. Leading a team of 5 highly skilled DevOps Engineers, you will own a key financial services platform that connects into major banks. You will also play a critical role in enabling the delivery of scalable, resilient, and high performing platforms supporting real time, client facing applications, with full ownership of DevOps strategy and execution.

Main Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the DevOps and platform engineering strategy
  • Architect and manage scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP - preferred)
  • Own and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient, low friction software delivery
  • Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation first principles
  • Establish best practices across monitoring, observability, and system reliability
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Product teams to accelerate delivery and improve performance
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high performing DevOps team
  • Oversee cloud cost optimisation and resource efficiency

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading DevOps/Platform Engineering teams in complex environments
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and reliability engineering
  • Experience operating in regulated or high-compliance environments (preferred)
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Any experience across DevSecOps
