THE ROLE

  • Planning and coordinating the transportation of materials across global locations
  • Overseeing warehousing, packaging and distribution processes to ensure efficiency
  • Tracking shipments and addressing delays, discrepancies, or logistical challenges promptly
  • Ensuring that all logistics activities comply with local, national, and international trade regulations, including customs and import/export laws
  • Staying updated on changes in regulations and adjusting processes accordingly
  • Conducting audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards and address any violations
  • Collaborating with third-party logistics providers, customs brokers and vendors to maintain smooth operations
  • Negotiating contracts with logistics providers to optimise cost and service quality
  • Acting as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding compliance matters
  • Identifying and mitigating risks in the logistics and compliance processes, including delays, damage, or legal issues
  • Developing contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain
  • Providing regular reports on logistics performance, compliance status, and key metrics to leadership

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Considerable experience in logistics and compliance management
  • A degree qualification in supply chain management, logistics or similar would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of international trade laws and customs regulations
  • Certifications in logistics or compliance (e.g., CLTD, CCLS) are desirable
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and systems (e.g., SAP, TMS)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for managing vendors and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to manage complex logistics operations across multiple regions
