We are looking for a Lighting Design Engineer / Lighting Designer to join a growing lighting specialist delivering innovative lighting schemes across commercial and industrial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with lighting industry experience who enjoys designing high-quality, energy-efficient lighting solutions and working with clients to bring projects to life. The role will primarily cover the North West, with occasional national travel depending on project requirements.
The Role
As a Lighting Design Engineer, you will design and develop professional lighting schemes for a wide range of projects, ensuring the perfect balance between performance, compliance and visual impact. You will work closely with clients, contractors and suppliers to deliver successful lighting installations from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing lighting layouts and schemes tailored to client requirements
- Producing technical drawings using AutoCAD, Relux or Dialux
- Conducting lighting surveys, lux level calculations and ROI reports
- Selecting appropriate luminaires and lighting control systems
- Ensuring designs comply with building regulations and industry standards
- Providing technical support and presentations to customers
- Supporting project delivery and coordinating with contractors and suppliers
Skills & Experience
- Experience working within the lighting industry
- Strong knowledge of Relux or Dialux lighting design software
- Experience using AutoCAD
- Understanding of lighting technologies, controls and energy efficiency
- Ability to carry out lighting surveys and technical reports
- LIA Lighting Design qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
