About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced Goods In Warehouse Operatives to join one of the UK's largest pharmaceutical distribution centres based in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where accuracy, quality, and compliance are essential. You will be responsible for receiving, checking, and picking prescriptions, medical kits, and pharmaceutical products while working across both chilled and ambient warehouse environments. This role plays a vital part in ensuring life-saving medicines and healthcare products are delivered safely and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process inbound pharmaceutical stock.
- Accurately pick prescriptions, medical kits, and healthcare products.
- Work within both chilled and ambient warehouse environments.
- Use handheld scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Check batch numbers, expiry dates, and product quantities.
- Maintain stock accuracy and follow stock rotation procedures (FIFO/FEFO).
- Ensure all products are handled in line with pharmaceutical Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards.
- Support warehouse operations while meeting productivity and quality targets.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Essential Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or another highly regulated environment.
- Proven experience working in both chilled and ambient warehouse settings.
- Experience picking prescriptions, medical kits, or similar products.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good reading, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to accurately follow written instructions and complete documentation.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling duties.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must live within the Bedford area or be able to reliably commute.
Availability
- Full-time: Monday to Friday, 10:00am 6:00pm.
- Must be available to attend an assessment on Friday.
- Successful candidates must be available to start work on Monday.
