The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers while providing excellent customer service.
This role involves regular manual handling, including loading and unloading heavy items, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.
Key Responsibilities Safely operate a 3.5 tonne delivery vehicle in accordance with road traffic laws and company policies.
Complete scheduled deliveries and collections efficiently and on time.
Load and unload goods, ensuring items are handled safely and securely.
Carry heavy and bulky items, including lifting, moving, and delivering products to customer premises where required.
Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
Ensure delivery paperwork and electronic records are completed accurately.
Plan delivery routes to maximise efficiency.
Provide a professional and courteous service to customers.
Maintain the cleanliness and security of the vehicle.
Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.
Essential Requirements Full UK driving licence with the appropriate entitlement to drive a 3.5 tonne vehicle.
Clean or acceptable driving record.
Excellent knowledge of UK road safety regulations.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Physically fit and capable of repeatedly lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy items throughout the working day.
Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery deadlines.
Desirable Requirements Previous experience as a multi-drop or delivery driver.
Experience using handheld delivery devices or route planning systems.
