We are considering entry-level and experienced candidates for this role. You will be joining the Credit Specialties department as an Underwriter within Risk Services. Credit Specialties offers non-cancellable and comprehensive credit insurance to corporates and banks across various sectors and regions. You will evaluate different transactions on a case-by-case basis to determine whether they pose an acceptable risk profile and align with departmental risk appetite. Additionally, you will manage a portfolio of risks for some of our key customers, developing relationships with our commercial unit and clients/brokers while managing expectations on both sides.
Given the nature of our business, we seek someone with an interest in geopolitical developments and preferably a reasonable grasp of macroeconomics. You will have the opportunity to attend industry talks and broker conferences, as well as receive financial analysis training. While a financial background is not essential, a basic understanding of financial statement analysis would be considered favourably. Candidates should be aware that the position involves travel, including potentially overseas, and therefore a flexible approach to working hours is essential.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree with a significant analytical component. Preference for Finance, Economics, or Accounting, although other disciplines will be considered.
- Strong written and communication skills with the ability to articulately convey an argument.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with confidential information.
- An ability to interpret financial statements will be considered favourably, although this is not a requirement.
