The Locality Lead Nurse works as a member of the Immunisation Team to support the safe delivery of large-scale programmes within community and educational settings in accordance with Department of Health Green Book against Immunisation and Local Services Specifications. The role involves close working relationships with IntraHealth's Lead and Deputy Immunisation nurse.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise immunisation teams, ensuring a safe and effective service using service user feedback to improve patient experience.
  • Monitor quality, compliance, and performance reporting risks to the Operations Manager Clinical/deputy lead nurse.
  • Provide support to staff within the IntraHealth Immunisation Teams to deliver an equitable and quality service to children, young people, and families.
  • Promote and support an effective team ethos with excellent communication skills, so that team objectives are understood and achieved.
  • Support, influence and improve the quality of the learning environment by providing support and supervision as well as educational and professional development for the team.
  • Support and deliver aspects of clinical education, staff induction and support assessment of learners and clinical staff, to ensure that the workforce has the required training, skills and competencies to deliver the immunisation programme.
  • Ensure that the service delivered meets the requirements of the national and local safeguarding agenda.
