Our Managed Services team helps clients keep their IAM platforms secure, reliable and continuously improving. We are now looking for a skilled IAM Engineer to join our Okta Managed Services function and play a key role in operating and enhancing our clients' Okta environments.
Job Description
As an Okta IAM Engineer you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and optimising Okta Identity Cloud environments for a portfolio of customers. You will handle incidents, changes and service requests working closely with clients to ensure their IAM platforms remain secure, resilient and aligned with best practices. This role requires strong technical skills in Okta, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues, and a service‑oriented mindset for delivering high‑quality managed services.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and support Okta Identity Cloud platforms (Workforce and/or Customer Identity).
- Troubleshoot, resolve and document incidents, problems and service requests.
- Implement configuration changes (SSO, MFA, Lifecycle Management, API Access Management, etc.) in client environments.
- Monitor system health and performance, escalating risks and proactively addressing issues.
- Support integrations with directories (AD, Azure AD, LDAP), IdPs and applications.
- Automate workflows and processes using Okta Workflows, APIs or scripting.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure SLAs and service‑quality standards are met.
- Maintain knowledge articles, runbooks and process documentation.
- Contribute to continuous service‑improvement initiatives within the Managed Services team.
Requirements
- 3 years of hands‑on experience with Okta Identity Cloud (Workforce and/or Customer).
- Strong knowledge of IAM concepts: authentication, federation, provisioning and governance.
- Expertise with Okta capabilities including SSO, Adaptive MFA, Lifecycle Management, Universal Directory and API Access Management.
- Familiarity with modern identity protocols: SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0 and SCIM.
- Experience integrating Okta with enterprise applications and directories.
- Scripting/automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python or similar).
- Experience working in a support operations or managed services context.
- Okta certifications (Professional Administrator, Architect or similar) highly desirable.
