We are looking for a mid-level full stack PHP developer to join our product and technology team to support ambitious projects across both Picniq and Into The Blue. You’ll work on improving and evolving our core platforms, helping to deliver new features, maintain existing systems, and contribute to the ongoing modernisation of our technology stack. We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, collaborating with others, and building high-quality web applications in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Building and maintaining features across our customer-facing websites and internal systems
  • Working closely with product, design, and engineering teams from idea through to delivery
  • Developing responsive, user-friendly frontend experiences
  • Contributing to backend services, APIs, and integrations
  • Supporting and improving existing PHP applications and services
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code
  • Helping identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and developer workflows
  • Collaborating on technical decisions and contributing ideas to the wider team
  • Supporting operational teams with setting up complex attractions and making changes to existing APIs

What We’re Looking For

We’re more interested in strong engineering fundamentals and a willingness to learn than matching an exact tech stack.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Commercial experience working with PHP and modern web applications
  • Experience with at least one modern PHP framework such as:
    • Laravel
    • Symfony
    • Yii
    • CodeIgniter
    • Slim
    • or similar
  • Experience with frontend development using modern technologies such as:
    • Tailwind CSS
    • Alpine.js
    • Vue.js
    • React
    • Next.js
    • or similar
  • Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL
  • Experience consuming or building REST APIs
  • Understanding of Git-based development workflows
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a product-focused team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Experience with Laravel, Livewire, or TALL stack applications
  • Experience within ecommerce or ticketing platforms
  • Experience with testing and QA practices
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, or microservices
  • Performance optimisation and monitoring experience

Salary and benefits £45,000 to £50,000 based on profile and experience. Non exhaustive benefits you will be eligible to: 25 days standard, increasing by 1 day per year of service (capped at 30 days) Private medical (Vitality) Flexible remote/hybrid working available (at least one day a month in the office) 1 paid day per year to volunteer for a charity of your choice Discounts on experience days Summer hours: Finish at 4:00 PM on Fridays during June, July, and August.
