Overview

Instrumental in supporting the Project Management function within a project services environment, this role requires a strong, well-rounded and dynamic individual with proven project management capabilities. The individual will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of business change and IT projects to agreed time, cost and quality standards across a multi-client estate. The individual must have a demonstrable ability to work across all levels of stakeholders and third parties within a commercial environment.

Accountable for:

  • Planning across all stages of the project lifecycle and obtaining appropriate levels of sign-off
  • Determining project budget, gaining approval to proceed and managing the project to the budget
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to agreed time, cost, quality objectives
  • Management of the project on a day-to-day basis to deliver in line with agreed project plans
  • Execution of project plan, monitoring progress and taking all necessary actions and escalations where appropriate
  • Management of projects through the required stage gates
  • Control of scope; raising and gaining approval of changes to scope
  • Reporting progress at agreed intervals to the required governance framework
  • Engaging and communicating effectively with key business and client stakeholders
  • Ability to apply an appropriate level of challenge to ensure positive outcome
  • Risk identification, documentation and impact assessment, including action mitigation
  • Issue and dependency management with appropriate stakeholder communication
  • Provision of accurate project and financial status updates
  • Line Management of Project Managers and other members of the Project Management family as appropriate
  • Working in accordance with Client group policies, client and regulatory requirements and operational frameworks
  • Role modelling the Client values

Skills & experience:

  • Proven project management track record in a delivery environment
  • Contact Centre or Field/Outreach Experience
  • Manage multiple small/medium complex projects, either internally or client sponsored and/or manage a single large complex project
  • Be a Role Model to project managers in all aspects of the management of projects (procedural and behavioural)
  • Line management experience of project managers including objective setting and performance management
  • Demonstrate effective and productive stakeholder management both internally at all levels and with third parties
  • Must be able to lead, motivate and manage cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams
  • Operate effectively in a commercial environment
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced working environment with excellent organisational skills
  • Strong influencing skills and an ability to apply an appropriate level of challenge to senior stakeholders
  • Encourages development of others through knowledge sharing to negate the risk of key man dependencies
  • A team player; is a positive contributor to team; takes pride in helping the team to deliver
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and communicate in business language
  • Experience of working with business customers and technical delivery resources (including third party suppliers) to deliver change and/or transformation projects
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner or industry standard equivalent qualification
