About the Role: As our Stock Controller you’ll manage and audit a vehicle stock of 1,300–1,500 cars, ensuring all vehicles are correctly accounted for from purchase through to sale. You’ll work closely with the Finance Department to report on stock levels, valuations and discrepancies, supporting operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date vehicle stock records across all systems.
- Carry out regular stock audits, reconciling physical and system data.
- Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies promptly.
- Produce detailed reports and analysis for the finance team.
- Coordinate with purchasing, sales, and logistics to ensure smooth stock flow.
- Monitor stock ageing and highlight any potential issues or slow movers.
- Support compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
About You
- Proven experience in the motor trade.
- Strong understanding of automotive stock control and auditing processes.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with multiple departments.
- Proficient in dealer management systems (DMS experience advantageous).
- A proactive, analytical mindset with a problem‑solving attitude.
