We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Central Accounting Team in Brighton, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting across our international study centres. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to develop strong technical finance experience in a well‑rounded role. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to month‑end accounting, audit, VAT/GST, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations, deferred income and financial reporting, offering fantastic professional development and visibility across multiple areas of finance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Preparing trial balances and supporting month‑end activities
  • Posting journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll and depreciation
  • Maintaining fixed asset and deferred income schedules
  • Reconciling control accounts and inter‑company balances
  • Supporting audits, VAT/GST returns and year‑end processes
  • Working closely with Finance Business Partners and stakeholders across the business
  • Other ad hoc projects

We’re looking for someone who is working towards an AAT qualification (or has equivalent experience or a relevant degree), with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines effectively. This role offers real ownership, broad technical accounting exposure and excellent opportunities for internal growth and development. We also support colleagues who are currently studying or looking to work towards professional qualifications, helping you continue to develop your career in finance.
