The Specialised Finance desk includes two key areas of business: Structured Finance and ECA Agency. The role requires a versatile professional who can navigate the complexities of the two structures, ensuring seamless execution and management of a diverse range of activities. The Associate will focus primarily within the ECA Agency Unit on activities related to ECA-supported transactions and general agency activities, alongside selected structured finance deals, covering the lifecycle from origination to portfolio management.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the ECA Agency Unit by managing the administrative and operational aspects of syndicated and bilateral ECA transactions where the Bank acts as the Facility or ECA Agent.
- Supervising administrative tasks and actively monitoring operational risks to ensure the smooth processing and monitoring of transactions.
- Reviewing critical legal documentation, including ECA policies, guarantee agreements, intercreditor agreements, and facility agreements.
- Supporting the structuring and execution of a wide range of financings, including acquisition, bridge, hybrid, and project deals.
- Supporting the management of a portfolio of financings across various sectors.
- Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, such as Relationship Managers, Credit, Compliance, and Operations teams.
Required Experience
4-5 years of experience in the role is required.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
- Technical Skills
- Agency and Loan Administration: Proven expertise in the operational management and administration of syndicated and bilateral loan facilities, including fee, payment, and covenant monitoring.
- Financial Modelling and Analysis: Proficiency in analysing and interpreting financial statements, and supporting financial modelling for structured finance transactions.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced competency in Excel (for analysis and modelling) and PowerPoint (for presentation materials).
- Loan Software Platforms: Experience working with common loan administration or trading systems.
- Structured Finance Documentation: Direct experience structuring or executing specialized transactions involving ECAs.
- English: Fluency (written and spoken) is essential.
- Professional working proficiency in Italian is highly desirable.
- ECA (Export Credit Agency) Frameworks: Deep understanding of the policies, procedures, and documentation of major ECAs.
- Legal Documentation: Strong working knowledge of key financial legal agreements, including Facility Agreements, Guarantee Agreements, Intercreditor Agreements, and Security Documents.
- Financial Markets: Solid understanding of global financial markets, credit analysis, and basic capital markets principles.
Qualifications
- Academic: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related quantitative field.
- Certifications: Relevant professional qualifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Manager), or other specialized finance certifications is highly desirable.
