Interv_l are representing a leading UK EV infrastructure provider delivering large-scale public and private charging projects nationwide. With major new frameworks and partnerships in place, they are expanding their Delivery Team and seeking an Electrical Design Technician to help shape the future of the UK's EV network.
This role sits at the intersection of electrical design, delivery, and innovation, supporting rollout projects across the UK, from on-street to private commercial charging schemes. You'll play a key role in creating, reviewing, and standardising the electrical designs that power thousands of new charge points.
Key Responsibilities- Create and maintain standard electrical design documentation and policies for EV infrastructure deployment.
- Design and sign off electrical schematics for charge point installations, both on-street (DNO-connected) and private network connections.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, engineers, suppliers, and DNOs/ICPs to ensure designs are compliant and buildable.
- Support capacity assessments, grid connection applications, and technical due diligence for new sites.
- Provide electrical design input during site surveys, installation planning, and fault investigations.
- Ensure compliance with BS7671, DNO/ICP standards, and relevant industry regulations.
- Champion safety, standardisation, and quality across all electrical design activities.
- Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical design and installation.
- Strong understanding of DNO/ICP processes, grid connections, and compliance.
- C&G 2365 or equivalent (e.g. 2330) with supporting Level 3 NVQ.
- 18th Edition (C&G 2382-22) and C&G 2391-52 (Testing & Inspection).
- Experience creating and maintaining detailed design documentation.
- Confident communicator able to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- C&G 2396 Design and Verification.
- Experience within EV charging, highways, or utilities.
- Familiarity with Amtech (Trimble MEP) or CAD-based electrical design tools.
- Awareness of ISO 9001/14001 and NRSWA processes.
